As a deemed distribution licensee under section 14 of the Electricity Act 2003,\u00a0<strong>MSEDCL<\/strong>\u00a0is carrying out the supply of power to the end users as well as maintaining the wire business for supply of such power.<\/span><\/p><p data-wahfont=\"16\"><span data-wahfont=\"16\">Currently,\u00a0<strong>MSEDCL<\/strong>\u00a0provides electricity throughout the State of Maharashtra and in few suburbs of Mumbai city and is considered to be<strong>\u00a0one of the largest power distribution Company both in the country and in Asia,<\/strong>\u00a0in terms of number of consumers and electricity supplied whereby it serves more than<strong>\u00a02.70 Crores consumers<\/strong>\u00a0with around\u00a0<strong>70000+ employees<\/strong>.\u00a0In terms of infrastructure, the Company operates a vast network comprising of\u00a0<strong>4000+ 33\/11 kV sub-stations\u00a0<\/strong>and switching stations, approximately 25,000 High Voltage Feeders, approximately 8 Lakh Distribution transformers, 3.30 Lakh KMs of 11 kV lines and approximately 50,000 KMs of 33 kV lines spread over 3.08 Thousand sq.km geographical area of Maharashtra covering 41,928 villages and 457 towns. Presently, the Company operates through a network of offices consisting of a\u00a0<strong>Corporate Office, 4 Regional Offices, 16 Zonal Offices, 46 Circle Offices, 147 Divisional Offices and 652 Sub-divisional offices<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-wahfont=\"16\"><span data-wahfont=\"16\">The Company has generation tie up capacity of\u00a0<strong>33755 MW<\/strong>, of which 8027 MW is renewable energy. The Company is in surplus position since March 2012 and successfully met the peak demand of\u00a0<strong>22,832<\/strong>\u00a0MW in April\u00a0<strong>2021<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"has_eae_slider elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-74cad4b\" data-id=\"74cad4b\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6ae87fa elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6ae87fa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-wahfont=\"16\">The overall AT&amp;C (Aggregate Technical and Commercial) losses for the Company has reduced from\u00a0<strong>33.89 % in FY 2006-07 to 20.73% FY 2020-21,<\/strong>\u00a0which is below the national average of\u00a0<strong>23%<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-wahfont=\"16\"><span data-wahfont=\"16\">As a part of demand side management, agricultural feeders which are\u00a0<strong>40%<\/strong>\u00a0of the total feeders, have been separated assuring minimum 8 hours of quality power supply to uplift the rural economy. Under the Chief Minister Solar Agricultural Scheme (akin to Central Government\u2019s\u00a0<strong>KUSUM scheme<\/strong>),<strong>\u00a0106 feeders<\/strong>\u00a0have been\u00a0<strong>solarised<\/strong>, giving benefit of continuous supply to around\u00a0<strong>38,000 agricultural consumers<\/strong>. Under the same scheme,\u00a0<strong>1340 MW<\/strong>\u00a0capacity has been contracted, out of which 339 MW has already been commissioned. The Company has entered into long-term PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements) to procure around\u00a0<strong>8000 MW<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0<strong>renewable energy<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-wahfont=\"16\"><span data-wahfont=\"16\">The Company is providing various consumer services such as<strong>\u00a0new connection, load change, name change, complaint redressal, go-green, notification<\/strong>\u00a0for supply interruption etc. on digital platform through the dedicated consumer portal and also through the\u00a0<strong>\u2018Mobile app\u2019<\/strong>. The Company is also deploying latest IT implementations to pace up with the technological advances happening in the power sector.\u00a0<strong>AMR\/AMI<\/strong>\u00a0has been provided to all\u00a0<strong>HT consumers<\/strong>. The Company stresses on value creation and cost optimization. In order to achieve the same, in the next five years, the Company is committed in improving IT interventions and system strengthening measures with an ultimate aim to reduce the AT&amp;C losses to 15 %. Further, the Company is also planning a \u2018Substation Monitoring Scheme\u2019 for better accounting of consumption and losses on each of its feeders.
